Togo/Togo promotes artificial intelligence

 

From June 4 to 8, 2024, Togo is organizing Artificial Intelligence Week (SIA), a first in Africa which thus establishes the country as a pioneer of artificial intelligence in 2024 on the continent. 


Opening the work of this meeting in Lomé in the presence of her colleagues and other ministers from brotherly African countries as well as world experts in the technology in question, the Minister of Communication and Media, spokesperson for the government , Florence Yawa Kouigan indicatedthat the particularity of the questions which brought together the participants of this meeting is their absolute transversality in that artificial intelligence has done everything to escape simple information to extend to all aspects of human life, in particular 'universal access tohealth care, the revival of the economy, access to water, the supply of electricity and the modernization of agriculture, in short everything that relates to human life. Ms. Kouigan further explained the ambitions of the government, whose vision is translated into concrete actions for technological development. 


Looking forward to seeing Africa in technological evolution starting with his country Togo, the President of the International Council on Artificial Intelligence (CONIIA) and Co-President of SIA 2024, Dr. Malik Mouzou said that artificial intelligence allows you to meet the challenges associatedincluding education and health care. However, the leading figure of artificial intelligence in Togo warns: “We must ensure that artificial intelligence respects our values ​​and our aspirations”. 

As a reminder, artificial intelligence is a field of computer science that delegates to machines tasks that would normally require human intelligence.
